I live in a district of Ghent called Moscou. It's called that way because a delegation of the Russian army camped on these grounds before and after the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815. In 2007 a movie was made in Belgium called Moscow, Belgium, but it actually was filmed in the nearby district of Ledeberg. Also Dutch artist Bart Lodewijks made wonderful chalk-drawings here from 2006 to 2009 on the facades of houses. A book was published by Roma Publications and S.M.A.K. in 2010. More work I made in Moscou here.
In the photograph, two posters for the Belgian Singer Helmut Lotti get blown over, making the Moscou viaduct beautiful again.
