Edited by Dirk Pörschmann and published by ASA publishers, Leuven. Jef Verheyen was a Belgian painter, making colourful, bright paintings with gradients. He wanted to capture the feeling you get when you stare into an open sky with not a plane in it. This of course only happens when a vulcano like the Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland erupts. Dirk said that you become aware of the fact that the colour is not up there, it is here, formed in the mind.
